I just saw a video clip of the famous George Carlin stand-up comedy routine about religion:
“When it comes to BS, big-time, major league BS, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest BS story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there’s an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day.”
I noticed on the Youtube page for that video there were videos of comedian Ricky Gervais criticizing belief in God, and videos of science guy Neil deGrasse Tyson criticizing belief in God as stupid. But what is actually stupid, promoting belief in eternal life or promoting belief in eternal death? Yet the self-defined “superior sophisticated rational thinkers” are so excited to tell us that preaching belief in eternal death is not stupid, and that preaching eternal life is stupid. LOL.
Neil deGrasse Tyson in the viral video below got so worked up he literally freaked out and is ASTONISHED!! that so so many, “7% of elite scientists actually say they believe in God!” He practically hyperventilates as he stomps around a stage trying to make it clear to us how INSANE that is! He then said:
“If you can’t convert that 7%, you’ve got no hope in the general public.”
He then lies to his audience and tells them “Among philosophers there are essentially zero who believe in God.” In reality most of the great philosophers throughout history believed in God as did most of the great scientists, e.g., Plato, Aristotle and down through the ages to Isaac Newton to Albert Einstein and the founders of Quantum physics — a belief in God is common.
Ironically, Neil deGrasse Tyson agrees that The Simulation Hypothesis is a credible theory. The Simulation Hypothesis is essentially a scientific sounding version of what most religions teach on the nature of reality. Go figure. Apparently if religious philosophy is dressed up in scientific jargon, then big-time atheist preachers have no problem believing in a man in the sky.
What is The Simulation Hypothesis really about? It is literally the same thing taught in most religious scriptures of the world, Nondualism. You can find nondualism in the Upanishads, in Buddhism and in Taoism. You can find it in the teachings of the ancient Greek philosophers. You can find nondualism in the Old Testament and the New, and in Islam (Sufis). It is in the scriptures of the world's religions even though many or most of their adherents either don’t know or don’t understand it for what it is.
Who is going to tell Neil deGrasse Tyson that he agrees with all that?
The Simulation Hypothesis, like nondualism, tells us that our physical world is a virtual reality because it is not base reality, i.e., the reality that cannot be broken down into parts and is the basis for all other realities that depend on it. The 3-dimensional physical world is built upon or dependent upon a base reality or dimension which is taught in the ancient philosophies as nondual, i.e., a singular unified substrate from which all other things are manifest from and dependent on. Which is the same thing taught by the renowned physicist who wrote the standard college textbook for Quantum Mechanics, David Bohm. His quantum theory of a unified substrate manifesting our physical 3-dimensional reality is the same thing as nondualism, which is the basis for most ancient religious philosophy. Which is why he was so embraced by many philosophers.
In modern physics that substrate is called the Quantum Field, which is described as an all-pervading multidimensional substrate that elementary particles, the smallest particles of matter that do not have smaller parts, are dependent on and manifest from, i.e., the quantum field is like the invisible man in the sky of the ancient philosophies. The philosophical versions of base reality teach us that the substrate to the physical world is also the substrate of our own consciousness and mind. Erwin Schrodinger, a famous founder of quantum physics, also agrees with the idea of base reality including consciousness and mind in his essay Mind and Matter:
Yet we know that a sub-mind is an atrocious monstrosity, just as is a plural-mind — neither having any counterpart in anybody’s experience, neither being in any way imaginable. I submit that both paradoxes will be solved (I do not pretend to solve them here and now) by assimilating into our Western build of science the Eastern doctrine of identity. Mind is by its very nature a singulare tantum. I should say: the over-all number of minds is just one. I venture to call it indestructible since it has a peculiar timetable, namely mind is always now. There is really no before and after for mind. There is only a now that includes memories and expectations. But I grant that our language is not adequate to express this, and I also grant, should anyone wish to state it, that I am now talking religion, not science — a religion, however, not opposed to science, but supported by what disinterested scientific research has brought to the fore.
I disagree with his saying “sub-mind is an atrocious monstrosity, just as is a plural-mind, neither having any counterpart in anybody’s experience, neither being in any way imaginable.” He was a student of the Vedas but apparently hadn’t reached the part where a type of sub-mind and plural-mind is discussed as the endpoint of self-discovery, i.e., the “one mind” he speaks to is taught as discoverable as our own mind when freed from identifying with it or believing we control it. So even though it is taught that there is only one mind in the universe by all the ancient great philosophies, east and west, they also teach that we experience that one mind as two even though it is only one — when we identify with being the controller of what we experience in the mind. Though we cannot explain how we control the mind, i.e., we do not know how thoughts, memories, dreams, or comprehension appears in our mind.
To give an example to make this clearer, a drop of water in the ocean is made from a part of the ocean and is one with it, but when isolated as a drop it is not experienced as we experience the ocean — because the ocean has a great power the drop lacks, they are one and different, singular and plural, at the same time. In Sanskrit, the language of the Vedas and related to most European languages, that concept of a simultaneous oneness and distinctness between an all-pervading mind and consciousness in relation to our singular mind and consciousness is called bhedabheda. Bheda (bay-dah) means difference and abheda means nondifference.
The Vedas, Buddhism, Taoism, Platonism, etc., and even the Abrahamic based philosophies teach that there is the same all-pervading mind that we all use, and that we experience that one unlimited mind as our own limited mind until we awaken to the truth of our virtual existence. It is virtual because as quantum mechanics has revealed, which is also in agreement with those ancient philosophies, our physical world is a virtual reality because it arises from and is dependent on a base reality. Similar to how a computer controlled virtual reality is built on and dependent on the base reality of computer hardware and software.
Enlightenment (theosis, nirvana, moksha, fana, rigpa, satori, henosis, etc.) is taught as experienced after acquiring the correct information on the true nature of reality. That information is similar to what Morpheus taught to Neo in the movie The Matrix because that movie was based on those ancient ideas. In that movie, what happens after you learn about the true nature of the world, that it is a virtual reality controlled by a computer AI? You enter into a God-like status within that virtual reality world, and the AI in control of it then seeks to interact with you through its control over everything. After learning that world was virtual, i.e., can be broken down into controllable pixel-like parts due to being an illusion of physicality, it can be transcended and also controlled — giving you supernatural abilities in the Matrix world — if you learn how. Morpheus taught Neo how to transcend the illusion of the physical reality of the Matrix, in a way similar to what the ancient philosophies also teach. We know that movie was based on the Vedas because in the 3rd movie of the trilogy at a crucial moment of self-discovery for Neo and when the movie ends a song is played called Neodammerung, with lyrics from the Vedas, that explain what happens when the truth of our own world being a virtual reality is understood. These are the lyrics:
From the unreal lead me to the real
From the darkness lead me to the light
From death lead me to immortality.
He who knows both knowledge and action,
with action overcomes death
and with knowledge reaches immortality.
In Him are woven the sky and the earth
and all the regions of the air,
and in Him rest the mind
and all the powers of life.
Know Him as the ONE
and leave aside all other words.
He is the bridge of immortality.
Beyond the senses is the mind,
and beyond the mind is reason, its essence.
Beyond reason is the Spirit in man,
and beyond this is the Spirit of the Universe,

then the ties that have

and the law of Karma works no more.
That concept of the world is also taught in Biblical based traditions, but not usually fully understood by most people who follow them. The biggest philosophical issue in those traditions is when they try to explain why people are not born in paradise or heaven if God is real. Why is there suffering if God is real? In Biblical traditions that big mystery is explained by the story of Adam and Eve. God is said to have created Adam and Eve to live with God in the Garden of Eden, which is a metaphor for heaven. The story is that Adam and Eve were expelled from heaven and have to experience dying because they disobeyed God after they were told “Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil or you will die.”
In most Biblical philosophies they teach that people are not born in heaven or paradise because of that original sin of Adam and Eve eating from that tree. In most forms of Christian philosophy, the life of Jesus was meant as a sacrifice to take upon himself that original sin that was passed on to humanity by his suffering and crucifixion. Most Christian philosophers teach that those who believe in Jesus or follow his teachings are redeemed from the original sin of disobeying God. There have been countless philosophical interpretations of what that all really means, with almost all saying it is a mystery that requires faith.
The reason they find it so mysterious and so unknowable is because almost all people take the lesson from that story to be the original sin is disobeying God. Doesn’t it make more sense to see the important part of that parable is Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Since that is obviously the point of that story why do people focus on the idea of disobedience towards God as the reason for the fall of man? Because they do not understand what eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil actually means. Therefore, because disobedience towards God is easily explainable to most people, that is how it is usually interpreted. Because of that this story has remained a great mystery since people have always had this obvious issue with the story: why is all of humanity experiencing the reaction for the sin of Adam and Eve disobeying God? That is the great mystery that needs a leap of faith according to most Biblical commentators throughout history.
Eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, means seeing duality, like good and evil, in the world. When you see good things and bad things, when you see many different things instead of only seeing one thing, then you misunderstand the message of the Bible — that everything is a manifestation of the all-pervading base reality, that God is that omnipresent and omnipotent base reality, and that our physical reality is an outward manifestation of and from God. By knowing that, and thereby seeing through that vision, everything you experience in the world thereby becomes a literal manifestation of God to you. The kingdom of God is within you the Bible teaches because the kingdom of God is anywhere if YOU are aware of the true nature of reality, i.e., everything in our physical and mental world is an external manifestation of an inner subquantum base reality, i.e., the all-pervading consciousness and mind of God.
Therefore, eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil means that instead of seeing everything for what it truly is as a manifestation of God, of seeing God’s presence and control over everything, you see only the outward physical reality and not the underlying absolute truth of God’s presence and control, i.e. you cannot live in the Kingdom of God if you do not see God as the king, as the ruler of everything because everything is dependent on God as the base reality, e.g., our mind and consciousness and the physical world depend on and are manifest out of God’s essence, by God’s will and control.
In the Vedas the kingdom of God is called Vaikuntha, “vi” means “opposite of” and “kuntha” means blunt, dull, and dumb. Vaikuntha is referring to a vision of the physical world as not really comprised of unconscious matter. The actual reality is that matter only appears to be unconscious to those who do not know that we live in a virtual world manifested from a superconscious base reality. What was the difference between how Neo saw the world before and after he learned that it was a virtual world? Before awakening he thought that everything was made of unconscious matter, that everything was separate and distinct from everything else, his world was informed by a dualist perspective of matter and consciousness as two different things. After he learned that he lived in a virtual world, how did he see the world? Everything was seen as an outward manifestation of the underlying base reality, a computer-based AI. Everything he experienced was nondual, a manifestation of the plan and control of an AI in a computer; a single base reality was creating an illusion of a dualistic fragmented plural reality.
If he forgot that then he would see everything as different from everything else, with no central plan or control, total difference instead of total oneness, the actual reality. When he sees the truth of a single AI manifesting and controlling everything in his virtual world, then he could interact with that AI. And that is what would always happen to him after awakening. The “agents” of the AI were popping into his location because Neo knew the truth of the Matrix. That is the purpose of the various ancient philosophies teaching us about the oneness of our world as nondual and virtual. It is so we can interact with the underlying controller of our world who is manifesting and controlling everything in our virtual-like world out of itself.
Our physical reality is manifesting from a substrate dimension according to Quantum Physics and the Simulation Hypothesis, not just taught from ancient philosophies. The “AI” in control of our virtual world is managing our lives by acting as the mind for all people. That is why you cannot explain how to create thoughts. You experience thoughts and you usually mistakenly identify with being their controller, even though you don’t actually know how to create thoughts. If you disagree, try to explain how you create thoughts.
You cannot create thoughts therefore you cannot explain how to create thoughts. Scientists will tell you that our brain somehow creates the thoughts we hear in our mind, we don’t know how, but the brain must be doing it. That is clearly impossible since brain cells would need tools they simply do not possess, e.g., databases of dictionaries of word meanings, grammar instruction, plus all the other software that computer-based AI needs to imitate human conversation. Our brain does not have any of that, nor anything resembling that. Our brain cells communicate by chemical and electrical reaction not by language or computational comprehension. Chemicals in our brain cells react to each other chemically, that is the only way they can communicate, they cannot speak these words you hear in your mind as you read this, nor can they initiate dialogue in your mind like you experience all the time. For example, I’m going to ask you a question, when you read it do not try to do anything but read it, just listen to your mind for the answer but do not try to answer, just listen to your mind, ready? Here goes, where were you born?
That voice in your mind is not being caused by brain cells since 1) brain cells cannot read, they do not have dictionaries, they have no way to know word meanings, etc., 2) they cannot see this since they do not have the tools that would enable perception of these words, 3) they cannot comprehend this since they do not have the tools that are needed like the tools an AI needs to give a semblance of comprehending our words. Brain cells regulate your body, but they do not have information processing tools, therefore they cannot process information. Yet something answered the question I asked you. Something read it, knew what it means, knew you wanted an answer, and spoke the answer in your mind to you. Brain cells cannot speak. But something did.
What we see and feel as physical reality is taught in quantum physics to be a virtual-like world because it is built upon a subatomic multidimensional quantum substrate, a quantum field of potential. The physical world is therefore virtual because it is not base reality. It is simulated because it is manifested from a base reality and is dependent on the base reality, which is also superconscious, and is what just answered my question of where you were born, in your mind.
We are all like ghosts in a machine, existing as a part of a superconscious supermind that is manifesting our physical world from a base dimension which is nondifferent from itself. We live inside a simulated 3-dimensional physical world that it is manifesting and controlling, completely, all the time, just like the AI controlled world of The Matrix. That is what quantum physics teaches, what the Simulation Hypothesis teaches, and what ancient philosophies also teach.
What does this mean for us? The superconscious supermind is like us, an individual person. But different from us since it controls our mind and we do not. We do not have the same ability to control the mind dimension because that takes a type of access to a dimension that is invisible to us. But just like us it has desires and emotions, it wants relationships with other people who are aware and awake to the truth. It wants to make that known to you, and to everyone eventually. When they are ready for the truth of their existence then the world becomes a place for developing that relationship through everything it controls, which is everything…
